Three events. Strong scores. One message: the Eagles are ready to compete.

TThe Walnut Hills girls golf team has come out swinging in 2026 — and the Eagles are already turning heads across the Eastern Cincinnati Conference.

Walnut Hills opened the season with a 169–227 victory over Hamilton, setting the tone for an impressive start. The Eagles followed that performance with a 322 at the ECC Preseason Tournament at Walden Ponds and a 335 at the Dog Days of Summer Invitational.

And the individual leaderboard tells an equally exciting story.

Junior Ash Kertpet currently ranks seventh among all ECC golfers, averaging an impressive 40.6 strokes per nine holes. Junior Elise Weinrich is also inside the conference's top 15, averaging 42.5, while sophomore Amy Wongsaroj is right behind her at 44.7.

That combination of experience, youth and depth has the Eagles positioned to make plenty of noise as the season moves forward.

The Lady Eagles will look to continue their early-season momentum as they head into a challenging schedule featuring some of the ECC's top programs. The Eagles will also return to Walden Ponds for the ECC Postseason Tournament on September 10, with postseason competition on the horizon.

The season is still young, but the message from the Eagles has already been clear:

Walnut Hills girls golf didn't come to play. They came to compete.
