Senior swimmer Quinn Schureck has cemented herself as one of Ohio’s premier high school athletes with a blend of elite performance, consistent dedication, and a passion for the sport that has carried her from conference championships to national recruiting recognition.
Schureck wrapped up her high school career with the perfect proverbial bow — an OHSAA Division I State Swimming Championships title. In her final meet as a high school swimmer, she delivered on the sport’s biggest stage, capturing the state championship in the girls’ 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall first and bringing home gold for Walnut Hills High School. She also secured a podium finish in the 100-yard butterfly, placing third against one of the deepest fields in the state.
Her state performance reflected the dominance she displayed all season within the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, where she consistently led the way in the breaststroke and butterfly. Heading into the state meet, she was recognized as the top seed in the 100 breaststroke, a testament to the work she put in throughout the regular season and postseason run.
Beyond high school competition, Quinn has earned national recognition for her swimming prowess. She was featured as a Class of 2026 recruit in SwimSwam’s “Best of the Rest” rankings and officially announced her commitment to swim at the University of Kentucky beginning in the fall of 2026. Competing in the powerhouse SEC, she will continue her academic and athletic career at the NCAA Division I level.
Schureck’s club and high school résumé is equally impressive. Training with the Cincinnati Marlins, she has posted multiple lifetime bests in long-course competition at prestigious meets such as the Speedo Junior National Championships, showcasing her versatility across breaststroke, butterfly, IM, and freestyle events. Her times in the 50 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM underscore her range and readiness for collegiate competition.
Her state championship is more than a medal; it is a moment etched into Walnut Hills history. In capturing the 100-yard breaststroke title at the OHSAA Division I State Swimming Championships, Quinn delivered a performance that will be celebrated for years within the halls of Walnut Hills High School.
For the Walnut community, her victory represents pride, perseverance, and the standard of excellence that defines Eagle athletics. From teammates and coaches to classmates and alumni, the Eagles have rallied around her achievement — not just because she won, but because of the way she won: with composure, determination, and heart.
State champion. Those two words now permanently accompany Quinn Schureck’s name, a fitting honor for a swimmer whose dedication has inspired a school and elevated the legacy of Walnut Hills swimming.
